Lawrence Darnel
Roach
Feb 7, 1953 — Sep 29, 2019
Mr. Lawrence D. Roach passed peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 12 noon at McLaurin Memorial Chapel with family visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m.
"TEDDY" Lawrence Darnel Roach, 66, of Reidsville, North Carolina succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family, 29 September 2019.
We're all here on borrowed time, because people come and go so unexpectedly, we sometimes take for granted that we can stop by or call later. Then we realize that nothing lasts as long as we hoped they would. Surely, losing someone can be a heartbreaking experience.
Teddy would say, " don't mourn for me, I lived this life exactly as I wanted to…"
Teddy, a graduate of Reidsville City Schools, served in the U.S. Military, and began his lifetime career in masonry, where he was a Master Brick Mason for more than 30 years. Once retired he spent time keeping up with the family, relaxing, and visiting with friends. You could always depend on him entertaining you; whether it was talking trash or him explaining how he's right and knows everything about everything. Roach very much loved family, fishing, football (Minnesota Vikings), wrestling, cooking, music and people.
Roach is survived by: his wife, Jacqueline Lewis; his mother, Pearly Mae Roach; his children, Angel McCann (Ramel), LaToya Griggs (Taurus), Monique Keller (David). His grandchildren; Ezana, Karen, Shawn, Kalila, Preston and Mariah. His brothers and sisters: Kenny Roach (Darlene); Tony Roach (Geraldine), Sandra Roach, Timmy Roach, Larry Roach, Gregory Roach, Anna Roach, and Kevin Roach; Brothers by love; George Courts, Norman Scott, Jerry Blackstock (Beulah), Roland Womack (Theresa) Donald Wharton, and Bunch Holt (Maryland); as well as; cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
We will miss our beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Healing happens when individual hearts combine forces to beat as one at the center of a family. Take away all our possessions, and we are left with one structure held together by God, Love, and Family.
McLaurin Funeral Home is serving the family.
