Lawrence Jessie
Kellam
Sep 24, 1950 — Dec 24, 2017
Lawrence Jessie Kellam, was born on September 24, 1950 to Idella Kellam and the late Sylvester Kellam in Reidsville, NC. Lawrence attended school in the Reidsville School System and graduated at Booker T. Washington High, the class of 1968.
Lawrence was employed at Zarn Industries until his sickness. He was there about 25 years.
Lawrence loved fishing, bowling and was a diehard Dallas Cowboy Fan. Because of his love for children, he was also a coach for little league football for many years as well as a avid supporter of Boy Scout of America.
Lawrence was Christian; he came to know Christ at an early age and joined Galilee Pentecostal Holiness Church until death. Lawrence also sung with the Bethel Male Choirs.
Lawrence always had a smile on his face and was out going. His positive personality, friendliness and joy of living won him an enormous circle of friends. His death saddens us greatly for we loved him dearly.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Kellam and son, Lawrence Jessie Kellam Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife of 29 years, Clarinda Kellam. Two sons; Monique Kellam (Tasha) and DalShawn Johnson (Felicia), one daughter; Idella Tene Kellam, two sister; Mary Ann Kellam O'Neil and Darlene Galloway, one brother; David Lee Kellam (Felecia), Four Aunts; Ann Price, Willie May Lawson, Delphine Moore and Nettie Desmond, mother-in-law; Clara Johnson, father-in-law; the late John Early Johnson, two sister-in-law; Johanna Mills, Chevonne Bowe (John). Six brothers-in-law; William Wheeler (Rosa), Earl Carter, John Johnson, David Stacey, Ron Stacey and Johnny Stacey (Vickie). Eight grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
We shall lean on the Lord for sustenance, for he is "A very present help…"
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying. Neither shall there be any more pain."
