REIDSVILLE - Lady Delone W. Neal King, age 88, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025 upon arrival to Annie Penn Hospital.
The family visitation and viewing will begin on Monday, September 1, 2025 with the family present from 12 until 2 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Redisville, NC. During the visitation, family and friends may offer expressions of love and reflections. The viewing will continue until 5 p.m.
All other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 988 Brooks Road, Reidsville, NC.
Mrs. King was born in Caswell County, NC on June 9 1937 to the late John Neal and Marie Brown Neal.
She was educated in the local public schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School class of 1956.
For many years she was a seamstress and owned Waddell's Florist.
She was a Boy Scout den mother under the leadership of Dr. A.D. Logan at First Baptist Church, Reidsville, NC.
She was a member of Brown's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and formerly served as First Lady at Grooms Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Reidsville, NC and Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Gretna, VA.
She was married to Reverend Robert P. King, Sr. for 66 years. To this union two sons were born, Robert P. King, Jr. (Gwendolyn), and Roderick W. King.
In addition to her husband and children, she is also survived by one grandson, Robert P, King, III; sister, Laura Robertson; nephews, Derrick Neal (Yvonne), Mark Neal, Joseph Neal and Johnathan Neal; niece, Vanessa Neal Martin, great-niece, Danielle Nicole Williams; great-nephew, Daniel Williams (Enyonam); great-great nieces, Tyarra Williams, Samantha Neal, Vivian Neal, Alisha Neal, Jonea Neal and Yumi Neal; great-great nephews, Cannon Dawkins, Daniel Lamont Williams, Jr, Marcus Neal, Jonathan Neal and Kaito Neal; special cousin, Dr. Sandra Leath; extended family, Levonne High, Tammy Johnson and Tavon High; a host of relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Tammy Carter King; brothers, John Neal, Sr., and RJ Neal, sister, Virginia Harrison; in-laws, Leanzar & Mildred Bryant.
