Mrs. Kathleen Broadnax Lynn passed on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 in Reidsville, North Carolina. The Memorial Service will be Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at McLaurin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, North Carolina.
Mrs. Kathleen Broadnax Lynn was born on April 23, 1921 in Reidsville, North Carolina, to Robert and Willie Mae Broadnax.
She was married to William Lynn and has been a devoted mother and friend throughout her life to her children, sharing with them life's most important lessons of being devoted to family, being kind, honest and looking for opportunities to bless the lives of others.
She has been a long-standing, faithful member of Zion Baptist Church. She expressed her desire for the welfare of her children and the children of others by actively attending school PTA meetings. She was also a supporter of the Barry L. Joyce Cancer Support Fund in Madison.
Kathleen was employed by American Tobacco Company, Reidsville Laundry Company and the Reidsville Public Schools as a substitute cafeteria worker. She also cared for the elderly and shared her housekeeping skills throughout Reidsville.
Mrs. Broadnax Lynn had numerous hobbies, which include cooking, baking and traveling with her family to places like South Carolina, Virginia and Ohio. She recently traveled to the NC Outer Banks, where she took her first ferry boat ride.
Recently celebrating her 100th Birthday, she received Certificates of Recognition from both NC Governor Roy Cooper and Reidsville Mayor John M. "Jay" Donnecker.
Those left to cherish precious memories are her children, Willie Broadnax (Tina Baumbach), Kathleen Broadnax and Rev. Harry L. Broadnax, Sr.; grandchildren: Lucretia A. Broadnax, Willie J. Broadnax, II, Harry L. Broadnax, Jr., and Isaiah Broadnax; sisters, Pearl Broadnax and Daisy Gibbs; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family. Covid-19 precautions will be followed with social distancing, masks and sanitizing required.
