John R.
Millner
May 9, 1925 — Oct 23, 2017
Just as He created life (that which is His), He has all power to reclaim that which is His. During the early morning of October 23, 2017 God dispatched His heavenly angles to Annie Penn Nursing Center to deliver a message to Raymond (as he was affectionately known) The message read;
"While here on earth you have done well my good and faithful servant and now you have earned greater rewards in my Kingdom on High".
With open arms Raymond joyless accepted the call and descended into the arms of his Heavenly Father.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Little Bethlehem Christian Church, with a visitation one half hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Eden Gardens Cemetery.
Public viewing will be 1:00-7:00 P.M., Friday, October 27, 2017 at McLaurin Funeral Home.
Raymond was born May 9, 1925 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents Lelia Robertson Millner and Robert Wesley Millner and siblings; Lizzie Gravely, Nannie Gravely, Louvenia Millner, Walker, Alex, Thomas and James Millner. For many years Raymond was the only surviving brother to Nannie and Lizzie and they bared a tight bond. Littler brother giving orders and of course that is just what they allowed him to do. We thank God not only for the tight bond they shared but for that bond the family is now enduring in heaven aa their reunion is now taking place. What a joyous day that must be.
Raymond was a faithful member of Little Bethlehem Christian Church serving many years (as his health would allow) as a gate keeper at the door (usher). He was very humble, kind and soft spoken.
Surviving relatives who will greatly miss him include: Wife Mary Anna Millner, Son Johnie (Helen) grandson Jason, Adopted granddaughter Lolita, four great-grand children, and brother in law David Watt, a devoted niece Beverly Mellows and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Visits: 0
