John Edward McCain, Jr was born March 6, 1954 to the late Deacon John Edward Isaac McCain, Sr and Minister Conella Sharpe McCain in Greensboro, NC.  He transitioned from this life quietly on December 02, 2019.

Brother John McCain was educated in the Guilford County School System. He attended and was a graduate of James B. Dudley High School and a star football player. On June 13th, 1996, Brother John McCain united in holy matrimony with Brenda Pinnix and they spent 23 years together in marriage. He often said "I plan to take care of my wife as best as I can with the Lord"

John was employed and retired after 20 years with the Guilford County School System.  He later worked with the City of Greensboro until his transition.

Brother John McCain was a believer of God, and in order to become more like Christ, Brother John joined Benaja Mt. Zion Holiness Church of God, Inc. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Male Choir, Mens Fellowship, Transportation Department and the Security Ministry, where he served as Head of Security for a number of years. His friendly disposition and desire to please was noticed and received by all he encountered. He served faithfully and with his whole heart at all times.  John often shared his wisdom in some of his writings:  "I love the Lord and I am trying to do his will.  I know I fall short in a lot of things, but God, I know he has me in his hands."  He also wrote "My children who are not saved, I am concerned about but not worried because the Lord, I am sure, is in control."

Brother John Edward McCain was preceded in death by his father, Deacon John Edward Issac McCain, Sr., and his niece, Conella Shnee' Garner.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: a loving and dedicated wife of 23 years - Brenda Pinnix McCain, of the home; mother - Minister Conella Sharpe McCain of Greensboro, NC; daughters  - Urina Goins, Conella T. McCain, Katrina McCain, all of Greensboro, NC; sons - John E.
