On Friday, May 13, 2016, Mr. Joe Albert Lynn was called home to be with the Lord. He was the son of the late Sammy and Mary Lynn, born on February 29, 1942 in Reidsville, NC. Joe was a leap year baby so his family and friends always celebrated his birthday on February 28th.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 19, 2016 at McLaurin Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with a visitation 10:30-11:00 AM.
Public viewing 12:00 noon-5:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2016.

Throughout the years of growing up on a tobacco farm, Joe learned one lesson, "In order to get what you want in life you have to work hard". Joe was well known for his Grand Slam Home Runs, up and down the East Coast. His passion for fishing was infectious to all around him; but the love he had for his family was indescribable, as well as the enjoyment he got out of working on cars. Joe enjoyed life and being surrounded by family and friends, while of course having a drink or 2. We will miss him, but we take comfort in knowing, he is home now.

Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by daughter; Melissa "Missy" Lynn, Brothers; Helton Junior Lynn, William Henry Lynn and sister; Idell McClurkin.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife; Marian Jane Lynn, Reidsville, NC, sisters; Viola Cobb, Emma Jean Lynn, Ossie Mae Lynn, Reidsville, NC , daughters; Linda Faye Lynn, Maggie Mae Lynn, Reidsville, NC, Katie Faye Lynn, Syracuse, NY, sons; Joseph Lawson, Joseph Albert Lynn, Robert Lewis Lynn, Reidsville, NC and Michael James Lynn, Syracuse, NY, Ten grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, 2 special people; Nicole and Donnisha Scott, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
