REIDSVILLE, NC - Mr. Jimmie Lewis Wimbush, Sr., age 87, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026 at Annie Penn Hospital.

Public viewing will begin on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 12 until 6 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 13, 2026 from the First Baptist Church, 401 Hubbard Street, Reidsville, NC. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by the service at 1 p.m. Reverend Troy Manns, eulogist.

The committal and interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Reidsville, NC.

Jimmie Lewis Wimbush, Sr., age 86, of Reidsville, NC passed away on February 6, 2026, in Reidsville, NC.

Jimmie was born on September 10, 1938, in Rockingham County to the late James Thomas and Bertha Wimbush Pickard. He was a gifted concrete mason and finisher.

Jimmie was known for his kindness because he never met a stranger.

He enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith Show, drawing and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Estella Fountain Wimbush. Their loving devotion to one another created six children; William Wimbush (Sherry), Darlene Chandler, Shirlene Campbell (Danny), Gloria Blackwell, Jimmy Wimbush, Jr. (Sherry), Ronnie Wimbush (Pearl) and lovingly raised two grandchildren; Shenika Hatfield (Jermaine), and Charmaine Blackwell; eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren; brothers, Woody Pickard and Willie Williamson; sister, Mattie Jo Williamson.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother and a brother, Curtis Williamson.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
