Mr. Jesse Neal passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at "Avante at Reidsville", Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Tuesday, September 24,2013 at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, Reidsville, NC with Dr. Carl L. Manuel Jr., Officiating and bringing the Eulogy. There will be a visitation 11:30-12:00 noon prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenview Cemetery.

Mr. Neal was born on November 2, 1922 in Draper, North Carolina. He was a long time member of the Reidsville, NC community. Mr. Neal lived in New York City for several years and returned to Reidsville in early 1970's and stayed for the remainder of his life. He drove a cab in New York City and continued to do so once returning to Reidsville.

In 1980 he joined the St. Paul United Methodist Church of where he was a member of the Usher Board . Mr. Neal loved life, family, music and until recent years long distance driving.

Jesse Neal married Alberta Sims Williams in 1983, who has since passed away.

He is survived by a son, James M. Holderby Sr. (lifetime partner Norma George) of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, three grandchildren; Lisa Renee Holderby-Fox of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, James M. Holderby Jr. of Milford, Massachusetts and Tynan Craycraft, New York City, New York, two great-grandchildren; Sheyene Desillier of Woburn, Massachusetts, Carley Desillier of Gaithersburg, Maryland and one great-great granddaughter; Aja Bascombe also of Woburn Massachusetts.
