REIDSVILLE - Mr. Jerry R. Bailey, age 62, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025 upon arrival to Annie Penn Hospital.
Public viewing will begin on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 12 until 7 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. from the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 607 Stanton Street, Eden, NC. The family visitation will take place at 3 p.m. Pastor Christopher Welch will preside and Reverend William Wilson, Sr., eulogist.
The committal and interment will follow in the Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.
All other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 1612 Derbyshire Trail, Reidsville, NC, beginning on Friday from 3 until 7 p.m.
Jerry R. Bailey, 62, was born on August 12, 1963, to the late Jerome Bailey and Mary N. Bailey Millner.
He transitioned from this life on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Annie Penn Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was a lifelong resident of Rockingham County. He graduated from John Motley Morehead High School. He furthered his education at Winston Salem Barber School where he graduated at the top of his class.
He served his community for over 40 years as a Master Barber (he started his love of cutting hair at the age of 12 years old). Jerry gave his life to Christ at an early age and then later as an adult rededicated his life back to Christ at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorship of Reverend William M. Wilson, Sr.
He was married to Janice Smith Bailey for 22 years. Jerry was a cherished best friend for 28 years. A gentle soul whose kindness and love for his family was boundless.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by three of his siblings, Robert Lee Neal, Joe Lewis Neal and Jean Brim. Both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Jerry R. Bailey leaves to cherish his memories of a devoted wife; Janice Smith Bailey of the home; his two sons, Toy Bailey of Eden, NC, Javon Galloway of Roanoke, Virginia; stepdaughter, Jalisa Smith of Reidsville, NC. He was the proud papa of five grandchildren; Amya, Jayden, Eli, Tristan and A'rianne. He is also survived by two brothers; James Neal (Rosa) and Elder Larry Neal (Phyliss) both of Reidsville, NC; two sister-in-laws, Eva Neal and Sandra Neal. A host of nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives.
