Jeffrey Pinnix

REIDSVILLE, NC - Mr. Jeffrey Pinnix, age 76, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 28, 2026 at his residence.

A viewing will begin on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 from 12 until 6 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from the Brown's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 461 Brown's Chapel Road, Gibsonville, NC. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by the service at 1 p.m. Dr. Frankie T. Jones, Sr., will officiate and Reverend Tommy Williamson will serve as eulogist.

The committal and interment will follow in the Brown's Chapel Church Cemetery, Gibsonville, NC.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the home - 8098 Friendship Church Road, Reidsville, NC.

Mr. Jeffrey Pinnix, also known as "Bodene" a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and cherished friend, was born on July 23, 1950, in Caswell County, North Carolina, to the late Sylvester and Bertha (Graves) Pinnix. He peacefully departed this life on August 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, friendship, and treasured memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Jeffrey was educated in Caswell County and was a proud graduate of Caswell County High School in Yanceyville, North Carolina. He continued his education at Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, North Carolina.

Jeffrey dedicated many years of his working life to the American Tobacco Company and later retired from Lorillard. He took pride in his work and in providing for and caring for his family.

Outside of work, Jeffrey enjoyed the simple things that brought him peace and satisfaction. He loved spending time in his man cave, where he could relax and enjoy his own special space. He also loved gardening and maintaining a beautiful yard, taking great pride in keeping his surroundings neat, beautiful, and well cared for.

Jeffrey was also a talented carpenter who enjoyed working with his hands and bringing ideas to life. He completed many projects throughout the years, leaving behind not only things he built with his hands, but also the memories and stories connected to them. His creativity, skill, and willingness to lend a helping hand were special parts of who he was.

Jeffrey was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and proudly supported his team. He enjoyed following the Steelers and sharing his enthusiasm for them with family and friends.

To those closest to him, Jeffrey was much more than a name—he was someone who brought meaning, warmth, and character into the lives of others. He will be remembered for the relationships he built, the love he shared with his family, and the special connections he made throughout his life. His presence was a gift, and his memory will continue to be a source of comfort and strength.

Jeffrey leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Corlis (Vernell) Pinnix, affectionately known as “Bunny,” whom Jeffrey lovingly called her; his sons, Frankie Pinnix (Mary) and Brian Pinnix (Terita); his adopted son, Toni Smith; and his granddaughter, Frankiece Pinnix.

He is also survived by his loving sister, Kameeleon “Puddin” (Marvin) Smith, and his brothers, Monroe (Dorothy) Pinnix and Elmer Pinnix (Barbara); his brothers-in-law, Jayfis Mitchell, Clayton Mitchell (Vicky) and Curtis Mitchell (Vickie).

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Mitchell and Sylvia Pinnix.

Jeffrey was blessed with friendships that stood the test of time. He leaves behind his best friends, Mark Durham and Bobby Cain, with whom he shared a special bond, countless memories, laughter, and cherished moments throughout the years. He will also be remembered by special friends Reverend Tommy Williamson, Leroy Pinnix, and Artis Martin, along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by his presence.

Though Jeffrey has completed his earthly journey, the love he gave, the work of his hands, and the memories he created will never fade. His life was a beautiful thread woven into the lives of many, and his legacy will continue through his wife, children, granddaughter, siblings, family, and friends.

May those who mourn his passing find comfort in knowing that Jeffrey was loved, that his life mattered, and that he will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

Rest peacefully, Jeffrey. Your earthly journey is complete, but your love, your legacy, and your memory will live on forever.
