GREENSBORO - Mr. Jay Covington, age 60, peacefully made his transition into life everlasting on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. GOD welcomed Mr. Jay Covington his faithful musician.

A public viewing and family gathering will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 2 until 7 p.m. from the McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. Words of expressions will begin at 3 p.m.

Mr. Covington was born on September 7, 1964 to the late Bishop Robert Covington and the late Miss. Rosa Harris.

He was a graduated, of Rockingham High School. He was employed at Fuji Food company for 22 years, until his health declined.

Jay's passion was playing his keyboard for various churches and watching sports.

He was preceded in death by his daughters Miss. Crystal Covington, Ms. Deanna Beard and step-mom Miss. Brenda Covington.

His survivors are wife, Tawanda Reid Covington of Greensboro NC; brothers, Mr. Darrell Covington (Christy) of Tennessee, Mr. Ricky Covington of Reidsville NC, Mr. Tony Covington (LaToya) of Eden NC and Mr. Craig Covington (Donna) of Ruffin NC; sister, Miss. Linda Covington of Reidsville NC, Mrs. Candice-Pierce (Dustin) of Danville VA and Miss. LaVonya Covington of Danville Va; daughter, Miss. April Covington and mom Miss. Margaret of Charlotte, NC; a host of other relatives and friends.
