James Douglas
Guy
Mar 18, 1976 — Apr 14, 2019
Mr. James Douglas Guy passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at his home in Reidsville, NC. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 12 noon at Benaja Mt. Zion Holiness Church of God, Inc. - 600 McWalker Road, Reidsville, NC with family visitation one half hour prior to the service.
James was born on March 18, 1976 in Alamance County, North Carolina to Clyde and Nettie Guy. James came to know Christ at an early age and was a member of Benaja Mt. Zion Holiness Church of God in Christ, Inc., in Reidsville, NC. He was educated in the Rockingham County School System and graduated from Rockingham County High School in 1994. He also completed two years of studies at Southern New Hampshire University.
James was a loving and compassionate person with a great sense of humor, and was so much fun to be around. He was truly one of a kind and once he met you, you were never a stranger. In addition, he was a die-hard sports fan, and loved NC State, the Yankees, the Chicago Bears and the New York Knicks.
Becoming an avid reader by the age of 4, he was one of the smartest people you'd ever meet and had a memory that would rival a computer. James truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures - hanging out with family and friends, watching sports or spending time with his two nieces, Jaylynn and Jaliyah, whom he adored.
James is survived by his parents, Clyde and Nettie Guy; his brother, Jonathan Guy (Arika); his nieces, Jaylynn and Jaliyah; his numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
McLaurin Funeral Home is serving the family.
