"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"

2 Corinthians 5:8

God's precious child and faithful servant was called home to be with Him.  We can see her pstanding nice, tall and proud.  A great big smile on her face, she has won her race and was faithful to the end.

Jada Blackwell Thigpen was born on February 1, 1959 to the late Mary Blackwell and Albert Dwight Blackwell, Jr. aka Daood Shabazz in Gaffney, South Carolina.

She attended Northeast High School in McLeansville, NC and was employed by Kindred Healthcare and Luby's Restaurants for several years.

She served God faithfully at West End Baptist Church in Reidsville, NC before moving to Texas where she continued to serve the Lord at Champion Life Centre under the leadership of Pastor James Green.

Although we know life threw her some challenges not once or twice, her eyes remained on the prize.  She walked with pep in her step and always greeted you with joy in her voice almost as if was she was singing and rejoicing in Life.  What a beautiful mighty woman of God she is.  She stood out in a crowd.  She was confident, strong, and never complained.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  her loving husband,  Milton Thigpen of Spring, TX; son,  Milton Caleb Thigpen, of Spring, TX; daughter-in-law, Ashly Marie Thigpen; sister, Rita Blackwell. of Reidsville, NC; brother, Derrick (Francenia) Blackwell of Reidsville, NC; other half-siblings are Miranda (Lance) Ballard, of Charlotte, NC and Malika (Anthony) Coardes, of Atlanta, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

You will be missed dear friend but we keep you in our hearts. Every word, touch, hug, smile, laughter, prayer, chorus sung with you will be treasured until we meet up with you in Heaven our home sweet home. – Betty Rendon
