Obituary

Mrs. Helen Watlington Lynn passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Avante Nursing and Rehabilitation in Reidsville.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Jones Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be Tuesday: 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McLaurin Funeral Home.

Helen G. Watlington Lynn was the daughter of the late David and Molly Watlington. Helen was born October 17, 1937. Following a period of illness, she transitioned from this life to Glory on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 2:50 A.M. at Avante Nursing and Rehabilitation in Reidsville.

Helen was a native of Caswell County. She was a member of Jones Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church, Reidsville, NC.

She was a graduate of Caswell County Training School. Later in life, she obtained a certified Nursing Certificate from PTCC in Yanceyville, NC. With her training, Helen served many Caswell County residents. Although she enjoyed serving her patients, she also enjoyed reading poems and "Little House on the Prairie" Books. One of her favorite poems was "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening", written by Robert Frost.

Helen was married to Billy W. Lynn who preceded her in death. Their oldest son William Ray Watlington also preceded her in death.

Surviving relatives to cherish her memory are Son; Michael A. Lynn of the home, Daughter; Pamela D. Lynn of the home, Son; Billy D. Lynn (LaDhana), Fayetteville, NC, three Grandchildren; Kevin D. Lynn, Kristopher A. Lynn, Ashley N. Lynn, two Great Grandchildren; Demarion J. Williams, Naila S. Williams, Brothers; Mr. Clifton Watlington, Burlington, NC, Mr. Floyd L. Watlington, Elon, NC, Sisters; Mrs. Odell Evans, Elon, NC and Delois Hughes (Lacy), Yanceyville, NC, Nieces, Nephews and a host of  other relatives and friends.

McLaurin Funeral Home is serving the family.
