Georgetta Ferguson, age 91, was preceded in death by her husbands, Preston Ferguson, Joseph Atkinson and Harry Lee Brown Senior. Georgetta, the eldest of five (5) siblings, is survived by Sally Mae Baucom, Waterbury, Connecticut, and was preceded in death by Cornelia (Noki) Beasley, Raymond Ettson, and Janie Hamilton. Georgetta was preceded in death by her daughter Sharon (Marvin) Jones and is survived by her son Harry (Gail) Brown Jr., Reidsville, North Carolina and her daughters Bridget Melton, Baltimore, Maryland and Tanya (Robert) Tyson Newnan, Georgia. She is survived by six (6) grandchildren Ryan; (Kelli) Johnson, Thomasville, North Carolina, Noki Anderson, Lexington, North Carolina, Cory Tyson, Orlando, Florida, Erika (Fred) Jones, Davidson, North Carolina, Jonathan Tyson, San Antonio, Texas and Sterling Tyson, St. Paul, Minnesota. Georgetta leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Georgetta graduated from Thomasville High School in 1953, and later received her nursing certifications, having worked in the medical field until retirement in the early 1990's. Georgetta's life will never be defined just by the life she lived, but rather by disciplined, determined , goal- oriented legacy she has gifted to the men and women whom knew her.

Funeral Services: Monday February 17, at 1:30 p.m. at Rowan Funeral Services Chapel followed by burial in the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will meet and greet at 1:00 p.m. prior to service.
