George W. Watt passed Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
Born August 16, 1979, he was the son of George A. Watt Jr. and Leonetta Marie Blackwell Watt.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Grooms Missionary Baptist Church with a visitation 10:30-11:00 A.M. prior to the service and burial in the church cemetery. Public viewing 1:00-7:00P.M.Friday, July 31, 2015 at McLaurin Funeral Home.
George attended Williamsburg Elementary School, Reidsville Middle School and Reidsville Senior High School in Rockingham County.
At an early age he professed Christ and became a member of the Bolds Springs Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. H. Eugene Lipscomp, and later moved his membership to Grooms Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Kevin Sturdivent.
He loved fishing, hunting, golfing and was an avid "Red Skin" fan. His gentle easy-going manner endeared him to all who knew him.
He was married to the former Kimberly Latrell Parker. Although no children were born into this union, he shared the love of three step-children; Johnetta Pinkard, Johnae Pinkard and Lil John Pinkard, parents; George A Watt Jr. and Leonetta Marie Blackwell Watt, biological father; Harry Broadnax, three brothers; Jawanza Mims (Amber), Timothy Broadnax and Lamont Lindsay, three aunts; Mary Era Stevens (James), Greensboro, NC, Malinda Smiley (Richmond), Elizabeth Colson (Lonnie), Newport News,Va., one uncle; William Harvey Watt, Richmond, Va., mother-in-law; Brenda Diane Saunders (Mike), sister-in-law; Tianna Broadnax, a host of special, dear, closely knitted cousins; Novell Watt, Barbara Dickerson, Sharon Williams, Elder James C. Blackstock (sleepy), Raleigh Williams Jr. (Pooh) and a host of other relatives and friends.
