George Alfred Lipscomb was born on November 4, 1921 to the late Ruby Lipscomb. He departed this life on Sunday, December 6, 2015.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at McLaurin Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with a visitation 12:30-1:00 P.M. prior to the service, and burial to follow in the Greenview Cemetery.

George was a World War II Veteran of the United States Air Force.
He worked for Fieldcrest Mills in Eden, North Carolina and retired in 1986. "Mr. Alfred" as he was lovingly and respectfully called, was well known in his community. His family and friends will forever be blessed with the memories of his concern, respect and love that he showed to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed.

George is survived by a daughter; Tracey S. Blackwell, son-in-law; Howard D Blackwell, Grandson; Cagrey L. Palmer, Granddaughter; Takeiya Livingston, Great Granddaughter; Shaquiza Blackwell, Great Grandsons, Jainie Blackwell and Tremon Blackwell, Great Great grand daughter, Shaquiza Blackwell, Great Grandsons; Jaimie Blackwell and Treymon Blackwell, Great great granddaughter; Shakeyia Blackwell and Justice Blackwell, special companion; Ms. Waverly E. Neal, special friends; Lelia and Levi Wright, Warren Graves, Jackie Graves, Vanessa (neighbor) April Howard, Dwayne Howard, Chris and Helga Abbott, God bless you all.
