On Sunday night, August 17, 2014, Mrs. Geneva Stokes, Mother, Grandmother, Friend and mentor, transitioned from this life to eternal life.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at West End Baptist Church, with a visitation 10:30-11:00 A.M. prior to the service with Pastor Rev. Reginald Cook bringing the eulogy. Burial will take place in Greenview Cemetery.
Public viewing will be Friday, August 22,2014 at 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm at McLaurin Funeral Home.

Geneva was born to the late Lizzie Lee Reid and William O. Reid on May 13, 1926 in Rockingham County. She attended the Reidsville City Schools. Geneva joined West End Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful member, attended Sunday School, and loved to lead her favorite songs in the choir. Geneva worked diligently in her church until her health declined.

She leaves to cherish precious memories, her loving son; David E. Reid (Carrie), grandchildren; David J. Reid, Tawanda Covington (Jay), Greensboro, NC, Tasha Strong (Cory), Carlstadt, NJ, Geneva Totten, Danville, VA, Inez Wilkerson, New York, seventeen great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
