REIDSVILLE, NC - Ms. Gaydrenell Palmer, age 74, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 206 Holderby Street, Reidsville, NC. Visitation and viewing with the family will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the service at 12 p.m. Reverend Lawrence Costner will officiate and Reverend Dr. Jacqualyn McHenry, eulogist.
The committal and interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.
Gaydrenell Palmer was born on March 4, 1951, in Reidsville, North Carolina, to the late Robert Earl Palmer and Lucy Smith Palmer. She peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and love.
She was educated in the Reidsville City School System and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1969. Following graduation, Gaydrenell began a long and dedicated career with BellSouth, from which she later retired. During her years of employment, she was also a proud member of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Union.
At an early age, Gaydrenell joined First Christian Church, where she faithfully served the Lord throughout her life. She was deeply involved in church ministry and held many roles, including a member of the Fellowship Choir, youth leader, Vacation Bible School teacher, volunteer with the Angel Food Ministry, trustee, and church historian. However, most of all, she loved our Lord and Savior and lived her life as a reflection of her faith.
Gaydrenell was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Earl Palmer and Lucy Smith Palmer; her brother, Ronald Earl Palmer; and her sisters, Mazie P. Simpson, Vonzella P. Reid, Yvette Motley, and Yvonne Motley.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Ronald "Keith" Palmer (Tomecia); her beloved grandchildren, Jaylon, Cierra, and Kerrington, whom she adored and was immensely proud of; her sisters, Sherion P. Murphy (Thomas R.) and Joy Durinda Palmer; her brother-in-law, Henry Simpson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Gay will be remembered for her beautiful spirit, warm smile, unwavering faith, and the love she poured into her family, church, and community.
