CHARLOTTE - Mr. Fred Douglas Brothers, age 71, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 10 a.m. from the Congo Legacy Center, 501 W. 28th Street, Wilmington, DE. The viewing will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.

Fred was born in Edenton, NC on September 1, 1953 to William Riley Brothers and Ruth Everett Brothers.

For many years, he was employed by the City of New York as an engineer.

Survivors include children, Christina Pegues, Jessica Lindsay and Natasha Brothers; brothers, Marvin Brothers, Curtis Brothers, Arthur Brothers, Riley Brothers, Jr., and Barry Brothers; sisters, Margaret Austin, Sabrina Henderson, Sandy Wills, Robin Brothers, and Shirley Brothers; grandchildren, Rhyan Pegues, Riley Pegues, Anthony Savage, Carter Lindsay, Samuel Weaver, Solomon Weaver and Namoi Weaver; a host of relatives and friends.
