While at home on Friday September 19, in the quiet of the morning, God sent His angels of love to carry our loved one, Floyd Hester King, to his eternal home.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Brown's Chapel Baptist Church, Gibsonville, NC with a visitation 12:30-1:00 P.M. prior to the service and burial to take place in the Brown's Chapel Church Cemetery.
Floyd was born in Caswell County to the late Novella King Isabel on May 8, 1929 and grew up under the loving care and guidance of his mother and aunt, the late Ressie King Lamberth and her family.
At an early age, Floyd joined Browns Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he attended Sunday School and other worship services with his aunt Ressie and her family.
Completing his early education in the Caswell County Schools, he later attended and graduated with the class of 1948 at the Booker T. Washington High School, Reidsville, North Carolina. After graduation, Floyd Joined the United States Army and with courage and tenacity, served his country for several years. Upon the completion of his army career, he received an honorable discharge.
Floyd was a bachelor for many years, but during his middle age, he met and married the late Eloise Morrow. Although no children were born to this union, he enjoyed the love and friendship of his step children.
Floyd was a wise, informed and studious individual who love to read the Bible and other literature. He enjoyed discussing his findings with his many friends, his peers, cousins, as well as older persons. He was a lover of people in general and would give assistance to them whenever the need would arise.
A brick mason by trade, Floyd's work is displayed in many areas. Our church bulletin board which adorns our church's campus was one of his productions. He will always be remembered and will take his place in the history of our church.
Keeping his life in remembrance are two step grandchildren, Gloria Alexander and Teddy Morrow, both of Greensboro; stepfather, John Isabel of New York; loving cousins, Audrey Lamberth Farrish, devoted caretaker of the home, Amelia Lamberth Muldrow, and Norris Lamberth, both of Temple Hill, Maryland, and Aubrey Lamberth (Mattie), Forestville, Maryland; Shari Muldrow, Temple Hill Maryland and La Sandra M.
