Obituary

Felicia H. Donnell, the daughter of James and Margaret Hooper, was born on March 18, 1963.

Following a brief illness, she went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 28, 2018 while at

Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.

Memorial services will be Saturday, May 5, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 401 Hubbard Street, Reidsville, NC at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Grooms Missionary Baptist Church, Reidsville, North Carolina.

Felicia was a native of Rockingham County, North Carolina. At an early age, she professed her life to

Jesus Christ as a member of Grooms Missionary Baptist Church in Reidsville. NC. Felicia exemplified

the qualities of a great Christian. She unabashedly invoked the name of Jesus when in the presence of

others.

She graduated from Reidsville Senior High School. She went on to graduate from North Carolina

Agricultural And Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina as Suma cum laude with a

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology. She received her Master's degree in Engineering

Management from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC).

Felicia was a resident of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She was employed by NASA Goddard Space

Flight Center in Maryland as a Metrology and Calibration Manager for more than 26 years.

On October 08, 1988, Felicia was united in holy matrimony to Maurice Donnell. She was a devoted

wife and mother. Felicia had an infectious presence, a hug that could brighten your day, and her smile

was contagious. She was a loving, caring, and good-hearted individual who could bring out the best in

people. Her total honesty was done in love, and she treated others fairly.

Her co-workers describe her as always willing to help others. She was very compassionate and had a

strong faith in God. Some described her as simply a "good lady".

Felicia was preceded in death by her parents James and Margaret Hooper. She leaves to cherish her

memory devoted and loving husband Maurice Donnell, sons Ivan G. Hooper of Reidsville, NC; Devin

Donnell of Upper Marlboro, MD; and daughter Margaret "Laylah" Donnell of Upper Marlboro, MD;

three grandchildren Iveyona Walker, Trenton Thomas, and Ivan Hooper Jr.; sisters Sheila D.

(Armenous) Adams, Phyllis Hooper of Reidsville, NC; and brother Kermit (Annette) Hooper of

Whitsett, NC; Mother-in law Pauline Freeman of Greensboro, NC; Brother-in-law Vernon (Sharron)

Donnell of Greensboro, NC; Sister-in-law Adri-anne (Earl) Jones of Greensboro, NC; and Terri (James)

Romans of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
