Mrs. Farlina Wilson Slade, cherished wife of Floyd Slade transitioned into eternal rest on Monday morning, October 22 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC.
Home going services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Zion Baptist Church, 807 Piedmont Street, Reidsville, NC, with a visitation 12:30-1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Greenview Cemetery.
Daughter of the late Ezekiel and Addie (Evans) Wilson, she was married to her high school sweetheart and together they shared 48 years of love and devotion.
Farlina migrated to Hartford, CT. after graduating from Booker T. Washington High School where she subsequently found her life calling as a teacher at Fox Middle School. After 25 years of tirelessly and passionately guiding and shaping young minds in Connecticut, she retired to Reidsville, NC where she continued her love of learning. She attended classes at A&T State University and Living Epistle Bible College.
She was preceded in death by sisters; Addie Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson, Annie Bell Wilson, Dorothy Pinnix, brother; Rev. Charles Wilson.
In addition to her husband, Floyd, Farlina is survived by her son, Kalonji; granddaughter, Kayla; sister, Ruby Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
