Those who knew her were touched by her thoughtful and giving nature. Her love for her family and friends was unsurpassed and we will be forever grateful to God for blessing us with her presence in our lives.
Fannie was born on October 15, 1944 in Reidsville, NC to Lucille Milner Mims and Water E. Mims, Sr., She attended Booker T. Washington High School. Fannie was gifted and talented homemaker. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her seven children, the bond she shared with each of them was unbreakable. Her compassion and care for people led her to serve as a surrogate mother for countless others.
Fannie's spiritual life was extremely important to her as well. She was a lifelong member of Little Salem Christian Church, a deaconess and according to Pastor Ron McRae, "the most passionate president of the Pastor's Aid Committee". Fannie was also the treasurer of the Christian Women's Fellowship.
We who are left behind trust in the all-wise God that someday all things planned, will be revealed as we surrender her into His loving care.
