Obituary

Fannie Mae Ivory Logan Broadnax, the daughter of the late David Logan and Annie Bell Jones Logan, was born on May 9, 1924. Following a period of illness, she departed this life on Thursday, July 31, 2014, ascending to a place of eternal peace.

Mrs. Broadnax was a Virginia native and resident of Reidsville, North Carolina for the majority of her life. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was also a faithful member of Greater Shining Light Holiness Church until her health declined.

Mrs. Broadnax enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was known to be a kindhearted and generous person, always willing to impart advice or provide a helping hand. She was treasured by her relatives and friends and continues to live on in their hearts.

In addition to her parents, husband, Jasper Broadnax; children, Franklin Reid, Edmond Ray, Sandra Kay, and Garland Vincent Broadnax; and siblings, Dorothy, James, Willie, Roy, Henry, Alfred, and Otis Logan, preceded her in death.

Surviving relatives who shall forever cherish her memory: six daughters, Leatrice Lambe (Alfred), Linda Farmer (John), Charlene Kelly (Victor), Annie Jones (Terry), Karen Jones, and Lea Johnson; four sons, Jasper (Louvinia), Xavier, Clent, and Charles Broadnax; and 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Callands, Clara Pickard, and Earlene Graves; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Greater Shining Light Holiness Church. Family visitation will be 1:30 pm-2:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenview Cemetery.
