Mr. Ernest Herbin's Obituary
Ernest Lee Herbin was born May 1, 1964 in Guilford County. He peacefully departed this life at Annie Penn Hospital, Reidsville, NC, after a brief period of illness on December 7, 2016.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Benaja Mt. Zion Church of God Inc., Reidsville, NC with a visitation 1:30 P.M. prior to the service and burial following at High Rock Church, Gibsonville, NC.
Ernest grew up in Rockingham County and attended Reidsville High School. He was a construction worker but better known as a concrete finisher. He also loved farming.
Ernest was a fun loving person who was loved by many. He never met a strange, it seemed like he was known worldwide. Ernest was always happy and saying things to make you laugh. Ernest always said that he and Tony Pinnix were the horseshoe champions. They earned the name "Onion" because they would make you cry. He would put on a show at the cookout with his one of a kind dance moves. Yes, he was the life of the party.
During his brief illness, he came in contact with God, and accepted Him as his Savior. When asked how he was doing…he would tell you "my life is in God's hands, I have faith in the name of Jesus, that He can heal me. I'm not going anywhere until God gets ready for me, and when He calls me home, it's not anything that man can do to keep me here. I thank God for one day at a time." God gave the family a gift in seeing a new man in Christ!
He leaves to cherish his memories, mother; Eunice B. Herbin of the home, Gibsonville, NC, one son; DeShawn Herbin, Greensboro, NC, one daughter; Porche Herbin, Greensboro, NC, five grandchildren; one sister; Shirley A. Crisp, Burlington, NC, two aunts; Alice M. Herbin, Gibsonville, NC, Lottie Thomas, Reidsville, NC, two uncles; Arthur E. Herbin, Russell Thomas, both of Reidsville, NC, one nephew; Mario Herbin, Burlington, NC, one great nephew; Caleb Wiley, Burlington, NC, a very special cousin/friend/like a brother; Clarence Herbin, Reidsville, NC and a host of other relatives and friends…….McLaurin Funeral Home is serving the family.
