Mr. Ennell M. Scales passed on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 2:00 with family visitation one half hour prior to the service at McLaurin Memorial Chapel.  Rev. Dr. Kenneth Moore is serving as Eulogist.  Public viewing will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Ennell Mark Scales was born on September 10, 1966 in Mt. Vernon, New York to the late Eva Grant Scales and Lawrence Scales, Jr.   Following a brief period of illness, he departed this life on Sunday, March 2, 2020 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Early in life, he relocated to Reidsville, North Carolina and was nurtured by his paternal aunt, Savannah E. Morgan.  Ennell attended the public schools of Rockingham County and graduated from Reidsville Senior High School in the class of 1985.  He was an outstanding athlete and an avid sports fan -  and he loved the New England Patriots - NFL.   He worked in several textile companies for many years until his health declined.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by:  brothers, Lawrence I. Scales, III; Jaylnn Reeves and Tony Grant; aunts, Lucille Grant and Georgia Mae Grant; and uncle, Herbert Grant.

Ennell leaves to cherish precious memories: special friend, Felicia Watkins and her children - Kiara, Kaiwah and grandson Jaeceon (Dud); children and grandchildren – Moneika Scales, Nakiah Croom, Terry Croom, Terryan Croom, Mark Scales, Auriel Scales, Azavier Scales, Linden Scales, Makayla Scales, Kamisha Scales, Jasmine Scales, Morgan Fennell, Noah Hunt, Tevin Scales, Khalil Scales, Dominick Scales, Steven Winchester, Steven Winchester, Jr., Jeremiah Scales, Tamiya Scales, and Olivia Scales; sisters -  Desiree' Scales, Darlene Grant, Andrea Grant, LaShanda Scales, Tyricka Scales; brothers – Herbert Scales and Robert Scales; aunts – Savannah Morgan, Diane Grant, Deborah Scales, Mable Burrell; uncles – George Scales, Robert Scales, Howard Broadnax, Clarence Grant and Matthew Grant; devoted best friend – Rev. Dr. Michael Galloway; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
