Obituary

Mrs. Emma Ghee Hilton passed on Sunday morning, December 27, 2020 at Greenhaven Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, North Carolina.  Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 1, 2021 from1:00 until 5:00 p.m. in the McLaurin Memorial Chapel.

Emma Jane Ghee Hilton was born to the late Lloyd Ghee and Viola Williams Ghee on January 4, 1939. At an early age, Emma joined the Chapel Grove Baptist Church and remained a faithful and dedicated member until she relocated to Reidsville, NC  She was educated in the public school system of Northhampton County and graduated from Gumberry High School.

She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and sister.  A kind-hearted person by nature, she would always say "If you make one step, God will help you make another."   Another of her favorite sayings is "I thank God for things being as well as they are."  She was employed at the Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise until her health declined.

In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Gary; and siblings, Leroy Ghee, Joe Ghee, Isaac Ghee, Willie Ghee, Estee Ghee and Lord Ghee.

Those left to cherish precious memories are:  two sons, Albert Gary (Susan), of Reidsville, NC, and Steven Wood (Trice), of Garysburg, NC; siblings, Coley Ghee, of New York, Hannah Jones (Bernard), of Garysburg, NC, and Darris Bynum (James), of New Mexico; sister-in-law, Peggy Ghee, of Garysburg, NC; grandchildren, Brice (Kristen), Trinity, Latrice, Serenity, Tretina, and Kanisha; great grandchildren, Ecirb, Kailee, Brice, Jr., and Brooklyn; god-grandson, Trey; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
