Elder Walter L. Thornton's Obituary
Elder Walter L. Thornton, the son of the late James and Virgil Penn Thornton passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC.
Funeral services will 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Benaja Mount Zion Holiness Church Inc., with a visitation 1:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Bishop Felecia G. Kellam will bring the eulogy and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Walter attended Booker T. Washington High School. He was married to the late Nel Graves Thornton, and from this union two sons were born, Ronald and Daniel Thornton.
Walter worked for Guilford Health for many years. He was also the owner/operator of his own cleaning service.
Along with his parents and wife, four sisters preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his two sons; Ronald Thornton and Daniel Thornton, Reidsville, NC, in-laws; Ella Motley, Geneva McArthur, and George J. Graves (Lillian), Reidsville, NC, Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
