Mr. Edward Lee Obey, age 91, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Eden Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Eden, NC.

Public viewing will begin on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 12 until 8 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 1 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Minister Gladys G. Withers will deliver the words of comfort.

Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

He was born in Rockingham County, NC on April 1, 1933 to Samuel Obey and Carrie Dingle Obey.

For many years, he was employed at American Tobacco Company.

Survivors include son, Tommy Graves, Sr. (Eva Smith - fiancé'); grandson, Tommy Graves, Jr.; great grandchildren, Tyquan Graves and Tarri'Onnah Williams; sisters, Annie Bell Obey and Ruby Ann Obey; nephews, Kirby Stone, Shawn Obey and James Obey; niece, Vonda Obey; cousin, Tim Perry; a host of relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harvey Obey Jr., and Robert Lee Obey.
