Edward Junior Johnson, 70, passed on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 5, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 7236 US Highway 29 Business, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Pastor William C. Hairston will deliver the words of comfort.

Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery.

Public viewing will begin on Sunday from 12 to 7 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home.

A native of Rockingham County, born on April 26, 1953 to Delois Johnson and the late Lawrence Johnson.

He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1969.

He served his country faithfully and was honorably discharged from the United States Army.

Mr. Johnson was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Johnson was an avid pool player and was excellent at repairing automobiles. He loved socializing and was well-known for his fashion.

In addition to his father Lawrence Johnson, he was preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Barry K. Johnson.

Survivors include daughter, Vonda Lachell Johnson (Brian); sons, Shannon Johnson and Edward Olander Johnson (April); mother, Delois Hardy Johnson; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Alease DeJournette (Calvin), Joann Logan (William) and Bessie Scales; brothers, James Earl Johnson, Alexander Johnson (Elizabeth Ann), Donald Lee Johnson (Elmer); great-aunt, Pearl Reynolds; aunts, Pandora Mills, Mary Alice Harrison, uncles, Walter Johnson, Sr.; special friends, Linda Scales, Jackie Cobb, Jerry Johnson, Donnie Cobb, Rick Abbott; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
