Mrs. Doretha Kendrick passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Country Side Manor, in Stokesdale, NC.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday at Benaja Mt. Zion Church of God Inc. with a visitation 12:30-1:00 P.M. prior to the service, and burial in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be Sunday from 2:30-7:00 P.M. at McLaurin Funeral Home.

Doretha was born March 8, 1934 in Winston Salem, NC to the late Shavis Williams Sr. and Beulah Pringle Williams. She was a graduate of the Forsyth County Schools. Doretha was a faithful member of the Union Baptist Church for many years where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Choir. She loved to sing and to spread the word of God to everyone she met.

After the passing of her husband; Walter Kendricks; and her declining health, she moved to Reidsville, NC with her niece Lisa Herbin where she resided for the last fifthteen years. After relocating she joined the Benaja Mt. Zion Church of God Inc. church family, where she continued to enjoy the word of God.

Along with her parents and husband, Doretha was also preceded in death by; her daughter, sister, and two brothers.

She leaves to cherish her memory, niece (like a daughter); Min. Lisa Herbin (Darell), three grandchildren; three great grandchildren, nieces, other relatives and friends.
