Obituary

Mr. Donnell Jerome Dalton departed this life after a short illness on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.   Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.  Public viewing will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the McLaurin Memorial Chapel.

Donnell Jerome Dalton was born on January 25, 1985 in Reidsville, NC to the late Barbara Wilson Dalton. He was a graduate of Reidsville Senior High School, class of 2004.

Donnell, affectionately known as "Monsta", left a lasting impression with everyone he encountered. He was guaranteed to light up every room he entered.  His infectious laugh and kind heart will be remembered forever.

In addition to his mother, he was proceeded in death by:  maternal grandparents, Nettie Wilson and Albert Wilson; paternal grandparents, Charlie Dalton and Cora Aldridge Dalton; aunt, Shirley Jean Bethel; and cousins, Keeshia Patrick and Walter Dalton Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  father, Larry Dalton, of Reidsville, NC; daughter, Dejanae Dalton, of Reidsville, NC; aunts, Shirley Weeks, Dora Walker, and Debra Dalton, all of Reidsville, NC; uncles, John Wilson Sr., Bobby Wilson, Sr. (Sarah), and James Bethel Jr., all of Reidsville, NC, and Walter Dalton (Bernice) of New Jersey; a host of loving cousins, John Wilson Jr., Amanda Wilson, Blair Woodson, Nikkie Weeks, Ashley Neal, Ruby Walker, Valencia Weeks, Bobby Wilson, Jr., Alisha Swanson (Frank), Katrina Hairston and Omesa Dalton; life-long friends, Walter "Man" Wilson, III, Scotty Woods Jr., Raynell Blackwell, Joseph Flippen, and Derek Snipes; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the McLaurin Funeral Home staff at 721 East Morehead Street in Reidsville, NC is serving the family.
