HAMPTON, VA - Mr. Donald Labrisco Hopkins, age 61, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the Hampton VA Medical Center.

Public viewing will begin on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 12 until 8 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 30, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 420 Mizpah Church Road, Reidsville, NC. Pastor Gregory Lee officiating.

Military honors will be performed by the U.S. Navy.

Donald was born in Rockingham County, NC on December 15, 1962 to Elwood Hopkins and Roberta Motley Hopkins.

He attended the local public schools and graduated from Reidsville Senior High School. He later enlisted in the US Navy where he served his country faithfully and was honorably discharged.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Hopkins and Charles Hopkins.

Survivors include one brother, William "Plug" Hopkins (Shirley) of Pensacola; nephews/nieces, William "Billy" Hopkins, Kaysen Hopkins, Kinsey Hopkins, Kiara Hopkins; cousins, Eloise Maynard, Dewyne Maynard Morris; a host of relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank the Hampton VA Medical Center and the entire staff of the Spinal Cord Injury Center for the extraordinary care provided over the years.
