Delphine Broadnax Hamlet was born on February 7, 1953 to the late Charlie M. and Brona L. Jefferies Broadnax in Reidsville, North Carolina.
She attended the Rockingham County Schools, graduating from Reidsville Senior High School, a proud member of the class of 1971.
On June 26, 1971, she was united in holy matrimony to Ronnie E. Hamlet, whom she adored spending quality time with watching movies, shopping, or just an evening out. Their 54 years together created an unbreakable bond.
She was employed by Macfield, now known as Unifi, for over 42 years, taking pride in her job, every step of the way. There she formed many lifetime bonds and friendships. Her persona demonstrated was strong, but not pushy, always willing to lend a helping hand. Although, she was never fearful to keep her integrity and stand up for what she knew was right.
Delphine dedicated her life to Christ at a very early age and was a life-long faithful member of Jerusalem United Holy Church in Reidsville, NC. As part of her service commitment through the years she sung with The Hundred Voice Choir, The Jerusalem UHC Fellowship Choir and served on the Jerusalem UHC Culinary Ministry.
Her hobbies and fun times included collecting Barbie Dolls with an extensive collection dating back to the Sixties and Seventies to present day. She was always eager to see the latest additions to the Mattel Creations, especially the holiday collections. Overall, the one thing that provided her with immense joy was being a mother and grandmother. These roles allowed her to be her authentic self, which provided joy andlaughter to her family. She enjoyed the camaraderie of her family gatherings and providing a homecooked meal.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in Glory by her father, Charlie Broadnax, mother, Brona Broadnax, brother Marvin Broadnax and grandson, Chance Garrity, along with so many others that she loved dearly.
Those left to cherish her beloved memories of are: husband, Ronnie Hamlet of Stoneville, NC; children: son, Brian Hamlet (Tara) of Kernersville, NC; daughters, Tia Crespo (Keith) of Elon, NC and Melissa Hamlet of Burlington, NC; grandchildren, Tiara Hamlet, Addison Hamlet, Kaitlyn Brooks, Zachary Hamlet, Raymond Brooks, Michaela Searcy, Jacob Hamlet and Zenobia Crespo; great-grandson, Isaiah Brooks; brother, Perry Broadnax of Reidsville, NC; sister, Pamela Redd (Stanley) of Reidsville, NC; brother-in-law; James Neal of Reidsville, NC; sister-in-law: Dorothy R.
