Ms. Debra Yvonne Wilson passed on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 12 noon at Benaja Mt. Zion Holiness Church of God, 600 McWalker Road, Reidsville, NC with family visitation one half hour prior to the service.  Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McLaurin Memorial Chapel.

Debra Yvonne Wilson was born on April 2, 1957, in Rockingham County and was the daughter of Emma Bea Herbin and the late George Haywood Wilson, Sr.

Debra was educated in the Rockingham County School System.  She thoroughly enjoyed her career in catering until her early retirement.  Soon after her retirement, she decided to go back into the workforce where she worked part-time at different events at the Greensboro Coliseum.  Though a hard worker, she always made time for her family and was the light in every room she entered.  She was kind but stern, touching many lives with her cheerful spirit.  Even though we no longer have Debra's physical presence, we certainly will cherish her spiritual presence of life and beautiful memories.

Debra was preceded in death by her father, George Haywood Wilson, Sr. and two brothers, George Haywood Wilson, Jr. and Karl Edward Wilson.

Debra leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted daughter, Queston Wilson and loving son Antonio Wilson (Tameka) both of Greensboro, NC;  five sisters:  Minister Doris Wilson Royster (Harold), Donna Neal (Glenn), Gail Wilson, Mona Blackwell (Clayton) and Natalean Herbin (Clyde); two brothers, James Wilson and Walter Timothy Wilson; five grandchildren, Kenyanna Taylor, Dreonte Norman, Kourtney Wilson, Kenston Wilson-Taylor and Janetta Wilson; one great grandson, Elias Barnett; close family friends, Marilyn Goldsmith and Michael Haith; and a host of special relatives and friends.

Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family.  Covid-19 precautions will be followed with social distancing, masks and sanitizing required.
