REIDSVILLE - Deaconess Edna Ellison Crisp, age 88, went from labor to reward on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Sovah Health Danville Hospital in Danville, VA.
Public viewing will begin on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 12 until 6 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 1 p.m. from the Jerusalem United Holy Church, 633 Prince-Williams Street, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will take place at 12:30 p.m. Bishop Mary E. Jackson, pastor, Elder David Henderson, presiding and Bishop Elijah Williams, eulogist.
Interment will follow in the family plot of Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

Deaconess Edna Ellison Crisp was born on March 4, 1936 to the late former Dorothy Palmer.
She attended the Rockingham County Schools, graduating from the Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1956.
In 1958, she was united in holy matrimony to James Crisp who preceded her in death.
In 1952, she accepted the Lord as her personal savior and united with the Jerusalem United Holy Church under the leadership of Bishop A.W. Lawson. After he was called to God, Bishop Elijah Williams. She became a member of the Young People Christian Society, Youth Sunday School Teacher, member of BCS Class #1, member of Senior Gospel and Mass Choirs, Music Coordinator, The Junior Jubiletts, the original Voices of Faith, the Mothers Board and the Deaconess Board.
Mrs. Crisp was employed by Chase Bag Company for 27 years and later the Creighton Shirt Factory where she retired.
For many years, she was secretary of the Amos Street Flower Club and active member of the NAACP. She had an outgoing personality and was loved by those who knew her.
In addition to her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by her son, Rev. Kenneth Crisp; step-father, Mack Ellison; sisters, Maxine Washington and Deborah Dalton; grandmother, Rosetta Palmer; step-grandmother, Rosanna Ellison.
Sharing precious memories are sons, Jeff Crisp (Sofia) of Summerfield, NC and Anthony Crisp (Gail) of Martinsville, VA and MD; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Crisp of Greensboro, NC; godchildren, Myke Motley, Janice Smith, James Watlington, Linda Houghton, Kevin Cobb (Tracy) and Yvette McAllister; sisters, Rev. Wanda Moyer and Rev. Rosetta Badgett both of Reidsville, NC, and Linda Faye Ellison of Eden, NC; god sisters, Jennifer Watlington of Reidsville, NC; brothers, Julius Ellison (Clarissa) and Alton Ellison of Reidsville, NC; god brother, Earl Williamson (Cynthia) of Reidsville, NC; 10 fabulous grandchildren and awesome great-grandchildren; 2 wonderful great-great grandchildren; one aunt, Martha Black of California; special friends, Lutrellia McAllister and family, Judy and Teddy Gordon, Thomas & Barbara Hooper, a friend for over 50 years, Vanessa Harrison, Cynthia Williamson, Cassandra Tillman, Brenda Adams and the Foust Family; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and cherished friends.
