Deacon Thurman Lee Pinnix, Jr., 68, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Brown's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 461 Brown's Chapel Road, Gibsonville, NC. The family visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Dr. Frankie T. Jones, Sr., will deliver the words of comfort.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing Friday, August 4, 2023 from 12 until 8 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Thurman Jr. was born on October 16, 1954 to Reverend Thurman L. Pinnix, Sr., and the late Hessie Harrison Pinnix.

Thurman Jr. was a dedicated member of Brown's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and church administrator.

Survivors include loving wife, Wondia Harden Pinnix; three caring children, Jamie Blackwell (Crystal), Kimberly Pinnix and Rose Pinnix Fulks (Joshua); father, Reverend Thurman L. Pinnix Sr.; sister, Barbara Brown (Larry); sisters-in-law, Janita Harrison (Sam) and Jacqui Shackleford (Tony); uncles, Vernon Pinnix, Linwood Pinnix (Lottie) and Hashim Khateeb (Edith) who was also his godmother; grandchildren, Shamonica Richardson, Shaundrell Richardson and Shante' Richardson; great-grandchildren, Bryson Davis, Zyaire Richardson and Kaden Richardson; aunt, Neapolis "Neepee" Harrison Galloway; a host of relatives and friends.
