Mrs. Darlene Patricia Lewis passed on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the McLaurin Memorial Chapel, 721 E. Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC with family visitation one half hour prior to the service.

Darlene was born on March 22, 1962 to the late James Owens and Inez Owens in Bronx, New York.  She attended the James Adams High School for Academic Careers, Bronx, NY, where she excelled.  She also attended the Baruch College in New York, NY majoring in Business Administration.  She was employed with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Health Center in Bronx, NY as Lab Technician.

She had a love for making wigs.  She also enjoyed listening to music and playing cards.  However, volleyball was her favorite sport and she enjoyed watching it on television along with dancing.  She was a loving a devoted sister, aunt and friends.  She was devoted to her family unconditionally.  Her greatest passion was showing love for her family.  Her loving and gentle spirit will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her.  She was always willing to lend a listening ear and to help anyone in their time of need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Owens-Harper a.k.a. "Weazer".

Precious memories are shared by her husband, Lennox Bristol; and her three sons, Tony, Kamal, and Kerry, all of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Sandra Bryand (Victori), and Shakea Lorrick; two brothers, Bruce Moore and Raymond Owens (Michelle); grandchildren; and an unborn grandchild; nieces; nephews; cousins; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of the McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family.  Covid-19 precautions will be followed with social distancing, masks and sanitizing required.
