Clarence "Beaver" Scales

REIDSVILLE, NC - Mr. Clarence Edward Scales, affectionately known to many as "Beaver," was born on January 6, 1958, in Reidsville, North Carolina. He passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, in his hometown of Reidsville, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, and enduring connections within his community.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 10 a.m. from the West End Baptist Church, 805 Vance Street, Reidsville, NC. Reverend Reginald Cook, eulogist.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his brother, James Scales - 704 Montgomery Street, Reidsville, NC.

Clarence was born on January 6, 1958 to James and Ruth Coates Scales.

He was educated in the Rockingham County Schools System and attended Reidsville Senior High School.

Clarence was a member of West End Baptist Church where he served on the board of ushers.

For over 25 years, he was employed at Morrisette Paper Company. In his spare-time, he loved working around the home, fishing and riding his scooter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pearlene Culver Scales; sons, Clarence Lee, Justin and Raymond Culver; brothers, James Scales and George Scales (Sharon); sisters, Sylvia Hairston (Edward) and Yvette Barnes (Frankie); aunt Glinda Williamson Blackwell; grandchildren, Dakeen LaClarence Lee, Dakota Wilson, Chosen DaOne Lee and Nova Young Lee; a host of relatives and friends.
