Obituary

REIDSVILLE - Mrs. Clara Frances Moore Cobb, age 77, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Gibson House Hospice.

Public viewing will begin on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 12 until 7 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 1 p.m. from the Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 179 Jones Chapel Road, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will take place at 12:30 p.m. Pastor, Reverend Michael F. Weaks, eulogist.

The committal and interment will follow in Jones Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 331 Brintle Road, Reidsville, NC.

On Wednesday, August 23, 2025, Mrs. Clara Frances Cobb departed her earthly life peacefully surrounded by her loving family to be in the presence of the Lord. She was the daughter of the late Archer "June" Moore and Amanda Thacker Moore and was born January 23, 1948.

Clara was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School class of 1966. She furthered her education receiving an associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont Community College in Yanceyville, NC. She was an employee of Burlington Industries before retirement.

Clara was a member of Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until her health declined. She served on the Usher Board, Choir and Pastors Aide Committee. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering and her love for God shined through everything she did.

Clara was married to Mr. Alvis E. Cobb for over 40 years. Their union was full of love, laughter and great memories. Together, they raised a family based on the word of God. Clara cherished spending time with family and showed everyone the same love.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvis E. Cobb; mother-in-law Bessie T. Cobb; father-in-law, George "Boots" Cobb; brothers, Vernon Moore, Charles Moore and Donald Moore; sisters, Ruby Moore Courts and Judy Moore Johnson.

Clara Frances Cobb leaves to cherish her memories to her beloved sons, Gregory S. Cobb (Cavell) of Reidsville, NC; Landon M. Cobb (Charity) of Reidsville, NC; two grandchildren, Makayla Scales, Daylan Cobb (Lakisha), one brother, Bobby Moore of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Barbara J. Moore of Greensboro, NC; three special cousins, Virginia Hoover, Rosa Socwell and Clay Socwell; two special friends, Iris Foust and Judy Ware; a host of sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

As we mourn her passing, let us take comfort in knowing that Clara laid down the blueprint to get to Heaven for everyone.
