Mrs. Clara Louise Bolden Garland was born on June 19, 1936 in Reidsville, North Carolina to the late John Ellington and Gertrude Bolden and was called to everlasting rest on Tuesday, January 7, 2014.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 12, 2014 at West End Baptist Church with Pastor Reginald Cook bringing the eulogy. There will be a visitation 1:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will take place at Greenview Cemetery.

Clara was raised by her loving grandparents the late Mr. Tom and Gertrude Motley Bolden and was married to the late Johnnie Garland.

Clara attended the local public school system in Reidsville, N.C.
She was a member of West End Baptist Church where she was active in the Missionary Circle, Kitchen Committee and assisted in other areas in the Church as needed. Clara was active in her Community as Co-Chairperson of the Meadowgreen Apartments Community Crime Watch and was a member of the Meadowgreen Bible Club. She was also a former volunteer for Meal on Wheels.
Clara retired from Tultex Fleece Wear and later was employed at Branchwood Rest Home.

Clara was also preceded in death by her devoted God-son Keith Lyons.

She leaves to cherish precious memories of her life: devoted cousin Vincent Bolden (Annette), her cousin Thomas E. Bolden (Lucy) devoted Goddaughter Charlene Kelly, sisters-in- law, Judy Harris and Vaughn Epperson, brothers-in-law David Hampton, Bobby Garland and Lonnie Garland, special friends Pete and Afrancis Williams, Linda Lynn, Margaret Blackwell and Mozella Johnson and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive Family and Friends at the home of Vincent & Annette Bolden.
