Christopher Havis Slade, 56, was born June 5, 1963 in Alamance County, to Miss Willie Mae Slade and the late William H. Graves. "Petie" as he was called, by loved ones and friends, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Grand Strand Medical Center, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Petie attended Reidsville Senior High School, graduating in the Class of 1982.
Petie loved to be outside doing things in the natural areas of life. He loved to fish, hunt, and drive heavy equipment at any time. Eric says, "He always taught me, "his little brother" to help anyone that needed help. He loved to show me how to do things in life to better myself, and make me the person that I am today. In life those of us who have siblings know. But to have Petie as a brother, I know he would have made a difference to whomever he was around. I will miss him unconditionally."
Christopher was joined in marriage to Mrs. Carolyn Christmas Slade.
Petie was preceded in death by a very special aunt, Mrs. Gerleene G. Pinchback.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother, Miss Willie Mae Slade; his younger brother, Mr. Eric D. Slade; his niece, Janet Simone Slade, his two nephews, Eric Slade, Jr. and Christopher Eric Slade; seven aunts; three uncles; other family members and friends.
McLaurin Funeral Home is serving the family.
