REIDSVILLE, NC - Mr. Charles Edward Settle, Sr., age 85, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025 at his granddaughter's residence.

Public viewing will begin on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 1 until 6 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Graveside services will be held privately at Elm Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Reidsville, NC

Charles Edward Settle, Sr., was born on October 25, 1940. He was the son of William and Josephine Settle. Charles never met a stranger and most of the time he had a smile on his face. Spiritually, he was a faithful member of Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church until his health failed.

Charles always continued to laugh despite failing health. He frequently talked about the days of his youth to anyone that would listen. He was a diesel mechanic by trade and loved to drive a tractor. His most precious hobby was listening to all kinds of music in his spare-time. Charles loved food and could down a plate faster than anyone.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, Juanita Thompson Settle with whom he had a large blended family. Also preceding him in death, a daughter Sandra Nunnally and sons, Donald Crisp, Victor Thompson and Charles Settle, Jr.

Left to mourn his passing are daughters, Josephine Garza (Humberto), Yvette Hendricks (Pete), Margaret Blackstock (David), Jackie Harrison (Maurice) and Terri Griffin. He also leaves behind two sons, William A. Settle and Tony Thompson; sisters, Sandra Bethel adn Carolyn Crockett; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, special granddaughter/caretaker, Sage (Tae) and extended family members.
