Mrs. Carrie Mae Blackwell Reid departed this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 23, 2015 at West End Baptist Church, Reidsville, NC with a visitation 1:30 P.M.-2:00 P.M. prior to the service and burial in Greenview Cemetery.

Carrie Mae was born on February 23, 1943 to the late James Edgar and Martha Cole Blackwell. She was educated in the Reidsville School System and attended Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1961. On March 10, 1961 she was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, David Eugene Reid and to this union 6 children were born; Inez Wilkerson, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Genea Totten, Danville Virginia, David Reid Jr., Reidsville, North Carolina, Cynthia Lorene Reid(Deceased), Tawanda Lynette Reid Covington (James), Greensboro, North Carolina and Tasha Yvette Reid Strong (Cory), Catlstadt, New Jersey.

Carrie Mae retired from the American Tobacco Company in 1993 after 18 years of employment. She professed her love for Christ at an early age and joined the West End Baptist Church, Reidsville, North Carolina, where she served diligently until her health declined. She was a true woman of God who truly loved the Lord.

Along with her daughter and parents, Carrie Mae is now joined in God's arms with her brother; John Wesley Blackwell and sister; Lorene Blackwell.
She leaves to cherish beautiful memories, her loving husband of the home, her children, two beautiful granddaughters she raised; Tiffany Niesha Reid and Eboni Unika Reid of the home, one brother; Herman Blackwell (Geraldine), 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, other family and friends.

She fought a good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)
