Obituary

Mrs. Carolyn Hart Davis passed peacefully on Wednesday morning, May 5, 2021 at Pelican Health and Rehabilitation Center in Reidsville, North Carolina.  A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Greenview Cemetery, Montgomery Street, Reidsville, NC.  Public viewing will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McLaurin Memorial Chapel.

Carolyn, affectionately known as "Granny Carolyn", was born on September 7, 1941 to the late John Frank Hart and Mary Carter Hart. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were brothers, Frankie L. Hart, Larry E. Hart and Harold E. Hart; and granddaughter, Ashanti N. Davis.

Educated in the public schools of Reidsville, she graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1959. She was a retiree of Zarn, Incorporated.

"Granny Carolyn" was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, and a devoted member of Missionary Group 1-4-5.  One of her favorite church events was the annual Rainbow Tea.  She would begin calling everyone months in advance to let them know what date the Rainbow Tea was being held. She would remind you to wear the color "green" if you planned to attend, but also let you know she was expecting a donation from you, regardless. She loved her church, and looked forward to her sister Glenda picking her up on Sunday morning to attend service.

Granny Carolyn was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She leaves to cherish her memories - daughters - Donzaletta Whitt (Jeremy), Tynesha Cobb (Gregory) and Stephanie Davis, all of Reidsville, NC; sons - Morris Davis, Jr. (Andrea), of Reidsville, NC and Anthony Davis (Angela), of St. Louis, MO; sisters - Barbara Smith, Jacqueline Watkins and Reathy Hart, all of Reidsville, NC; and Glenda Slade, of Greensboro, NC; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; special friend – William H. Bass, of Reidsville, NC; special cousins - Marjorie Rankin and Lucy Bolden, of Reidsville, NC; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
