GREENSBORO, NC - Mr. Carl Irvin Johnson, age 70, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Wesley Long Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 2 p.m. from the McLaurin-Harris Memorial Chapel, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC. Reverend Michael Galloway will officiated and Revered Gregory Hopkins, eulogist.

Public viewing will only be held on Sunday prior to the service beginning at 12 p.m.

The committal and interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

Mr. Carl Irvin Johnson, son of the late Ethel M. Johnson and Horace Cobb, was born on January 10, 1955, in Rockingham County, North Carolina.

Affectionately known as "Bobby," he was a devoted father, grandfather, and great- grandfather. Bobby attended Reidsville Senior High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1974. He was an avid basketball player and enjoyed swimming in his younger years. Bobby loved attending church and faithfully sang in two church choirs.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Johnson; his father, Horace Cobb; and his two brothers, Barry Johnson and Stanley Johnson, all of Reidsville, North Carolina.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his beloved three daughters: Shameeka Johnson and Takesia Johnson, both of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Alicia Johnson of Lawrenceville, Georgia; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, all of Greensboro, North Carolina. He is also survived by one aunt, Ollie Lawson of Reidsville, North Carolina; one uncle, Pastor Gregory Hopkins of Reidsville, North Carolina; three nephews Barry Johnson, Steve Johnson and Jason Settle and a host of cousins, and friends; and one special friend, Ramona Mattheson of Greensboro, North Carolina.
