Obituary

Camille Iva Wilkerson entered into this life on August 1, 1966, a precocious child—wise beyond her years. She loved to read, and engaged her mother in meandering conversations about life, God, and religion. With such an inquisitive mind she often wished to explore non-traditional subjects which sometimes frustrated her teachers. She salvaged her relationship with them though because she was always a loving sweet child.

She solidified her relationship with Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized by the pastor of Mount Herman Baptist Church in Ruffin, North Carolina.

Camille attended elementary and middle school in Reidsville, but chose to get her high school diploma from Rockingham Community College. She grew into a free spirited adult who worked a number of jobs but seemed most comfortable helping those who seemed to have lost their way find the right path again. She was often found working with the homeless or those who were destitute in other ways, and found these kinds of endeavors quite rewarding.

She married Michael Raynor, the love of her life, and they lived for a time in Jacksonville North Carolina. Camille was the mother of one child; Michael Wilkerson. Although, she had only one child she was loved by all children that met her. It was as if they spied a light of love and goodness within her that only they could see.

She leaves to mourn her untimely death her mother; Marjorie Wilkerson, her son, Michael, her loving sister; Anita Yvonne Wilkerson, and her brother, Andre' Wilkerson. She also leaves behind two dear nieces, Antania and Quamissa Wilkerson, and two nephews; Ryan and Gary Wilkerson.. She leaves behind as well one Uncle; Herman Jackson(Mable) and four Aunts; Mae Wilkerson, Eva Laws, and Emma Pennington(James)and Mary Millner. Camille was preceded in death by her father, Elbert, and two brothers; Gary and Charlie.

In His infinite wisdom, God chose to take her from this life on Monday September 17, 2012. We all miss her, but gain solace in knowing that she is with the Lord..

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Grooms Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Sturdivant bringing the eulogy and burial following in the church cemetery. There will be a visitation 1:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
