RUFFIN, NC - Mr. Brian Keith Smith, Jr., age 41, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 at Oak Forest Health & Rehabilitation Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Public viewing will begin on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 12 until 6 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 from the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 206 Holderby Street, Reidsville, NC. Visitation with the family will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by the service at 3 p.m. Dr. Jacqualyn McHenry, eulogist.

The committal and interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his mother, Angela Henderson and spouse Ellis, 88 Smith Road, Ruffin, NC.

Brian Keith Smith, Jr., age 41, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Oak Forest Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Reidsville, North Carolina, Brian was the beloved son of Brian Keith Smith, Sr. and Angela Courts Henderson. He graduated from Reidsville Senior High School in 2002 and went on to attend North Carolina A&T State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2006. Brian later pursued studies in Chiropractic Medicine in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Brian was employed as a Lab Technician at PPG in Greensboro until his health declined. Known for his sharp mind and caring spirit, he enjoyed sharing financial advice and engaging in conversations about faith. Brian was also a devoted vegan and proudly encouraged others to "go meatless". More than anything, Brian cherished time with those he loved. He looked forward to weekly movie dates with his mother and treasured the moments he spent socializing with his father. His circle included lifelong friends, extended family, and many who felt uplifted by his humor, sincerity, and wisdom.

Brian was preceded in death by his sister Kiya Jinae' Smith; grandfathers James Smith, James Patterson, James McCollum, and William Wells, Sr.; and grandmothers Margueritte Courts, Margaret Wells and Edna McCollum.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother Angela C. Henderson (Ellis); Father Brian K. Smith, Sr. (Stephanie); Grandfather  Lorenzo Stokes {Dorothy); "friend like a mother" Elder Toni Easley (Kevin); stepsisters Rhonda Turner (Corey) and Brittney Mills; grandmothers GeorgiaMae Smith and Frances Patterson; and "friend like a mother" Kathy Forte'. He is also lovingly remembered by his best friends Alpha Rakama and Shawn Harrison, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Brian's life and memory remain a blessing to all who knew him.
